04 The person doing the work
Cathryn Salony, CPA โ Greenwich, Connecticut.
Fifteen years in tax, restructuring and complex multi-entity accounting: businesses with several entities, ownership that changed without the books noticing, years of records that never reconciled. That is the same skill a marital estate requires, applied earlier and for a different purpose.
The practice is now devoted to pre-legal financial advisory โ building the complete picture for women facing divorce, before counsel is retained and before anything is contested. A small number of clients at a time, because the work does not compress well.
I am a licensed CPA with fifteen years in tax, restructuring and complex multi-entity work. I am not a forensic accountant, a certified fraud examiner, or a credentialed business valuator, and I will not present myself as one. If your matter requires courtroom testimony from a credentialed expert, I will say so plainly and help your counsel find the right person.
I am not an attorney, and nothing here is legal advice. You will need a family law attorney. This work makes theirs sharper and considerably cheaper โ a client who arrives with organized records and a clear financial position spends far less in billable hours, and asks for more, because she knows what there is to ask for.
